A Separate Life

Update on the life of:

I've been settling into life as a mother just fine. The beginning was a little rough, but lately, things have been pretty good.
Things are sluggish in the realm of Michael and I going into business together. I sat the guys down though, we made an agenda and set some deadlines, and the next meeting will be Tuesday. Hopefully we'll keep this up.
I've decided to include more quality pieces in my wardrobe, so I hit the mall on Saturday and was able to afford two pretty decent items. Quality clothing is damn expensive...it'll definitely be a while before I can add to those two items, lol.

In more important news, these are a few things I've been into lately:
Beirut, Devendra Banhart, & Flosstradamus.
Been watching my Gilmore Girls DVDs whenever I can.
Been reading Shadowfires by Dean Koontz, with Michael. It's definitely suspenseful, but not one of his best.
Been looking into going back to school to take classes just for fun...I really am a nerd and I love school. I miss it.
I am going to talk to Michael about taking on Full Contact Krav.
Also, Alyssa is getting more and more attentive to everyone and everything, with every passing day. I am really so happy she is my daughter. I don't know how or why I've been this lucky.
Oh, and Michael and I gave up on buying kayaks. Even used, they are way too expensive.
I am determined to pick up a copy of Autobiography of a Face and begin it sometime in the next week.

I've decided, I agree with George Bernard Shaw: Youth is [absolutely] wasted on the young. And of course, so does Rod Stewart...I love Rod.
It's a funny thing, getting older. Michael and I always laugh when we hear his teenage brother talk about things that are important to him, because we know that at some points in our lives, we were the same. Prioritizing the same inane things...
But do we ever change? Our mentality, I mean. I know we do mature, but really intead of Air Force Ones (sneakers), we prefer Dior sunglasses or Tag Heuer watches.

Anyways, I am going to bed.

  1. Hi..I hope you don't mind if I follow your blog.
Your baby's name is Allysa, mine is Allyson, (sounds almost the same) she's turning 1 year old this month.
I like your post about, things that you intend to do. especially the third sentence, where you talked about not trying to make your daughter fit into your own preferences. Because, I feel the same for Allyson.
    Keep it up...
