Exhale

Well, I have been absent from blogger lately.
I've had good and bad days.

My beloved Allister died of adrenocortical carcinoma cancer.
He was wonderful and I still do love him. We buried him at my parents' house near my family's beloved ferret.

I love him so very much. He was incredibly sweet.

The good news is, that Alyssa continues to blossom and grow. She's been "talking" a lot lately. And she's getting better at using her hands, with every passing day.
Now if only I could get her to do/enjoy tummy time...

We are giving Ophelia, our other ferret to my parents not just because my brother has been asking us to please please giver her to him, since we adopted her, but also because I feel her. I have zero extra time to give her attention, and now especially with her sibling gone, I think she needs more attention and love. We'll still see her a few times a week, and I'll actually be able to enjoy her when we go over there. They love ferrets and my father is home all day, so it works out. Well, the only problem is that She has to stick to the master bedroom and bathroom because my brother's girlfriend's dog also currently (temporarily) resides there, and they do NOT get along.

Anyways, here are some pictures:

I think I'm going to go see my doctor next week. I've been feeling off in so many ways lately, and I'd like to know what's up. Nothing serious, I hope. But then, that's what I always do- worry about the worst possible outcome. :/

That is all. Off to go get ready for bed with my loves! :)

A Separate Life

Update on the life of:

I've been settling into life as a mother just fine. The beginning was a little rough, but lately, things have been pretty good.
Things are sluggish in the realm of Michael and I going into business together. I sat the guys down though, we made an agenda and set some deadlines, and the next meeting will be Tuesday. Hopefully we'll keep this up.
I've decided to include more quality pieces in my wardrobe, so I hit the mall on Saturday and was able to afford two pretty decent items. Quality clothing is damn expensive...it'll definitely be a while before I can add to those two items, lol.

In more important news, these are a few things I've been into lately:
Beirut, Devendra Banhart, & Flosstradamus.
Been watching my Gilmore Girls DVDs whenever I can.
Been reading Shadowfires by Dean Koontz, with Michael. It's definitely suspenseful, but not one of his best.
Been looking into going back to school to take classes just for fun...I really am a nerd and I love school. I miss it.
I am going to talk to Michael about taking on Full Contact Krav.
Also, Alyssa is getting more and more attentive to everyone and everything, with every passing day. I am really so happy she is my daughter. I don't know how or why I've been this lucky.
Oh, and Michael and I gave up on buying kayaks. Even used, they are way too expensive.
I am determined to pick up a copy of Autobiography of a Face and begin it sometime in the next week.

I've decided, I agree with George Bernard Shaw: Youth is [absolutely] wasted on the young. And of course, so does Rod Stewart...I love Rod.
It's a funny thing, getting older. Michael and I always laugh when we hear his teenage brother talk about things that are important to him, because we know that at some points in our lives, we were the same. Prioritizing the same inane things...
But do we ever change? Our mentality, I mean. I know we do mature, but really intead of Air Force Ones (sneakers), we prefer Dior sunglasses or Tag Heuer watches.

Anyways, I am going to bed.

Picture Post

So, we'll start with a few pics from the baptism:

Other news: my previous employer contacted me and asked if I would come back at 30 hours a week. Michael and I discussed it, and decided I would not take the position...

Oh man...it took me three tried to get alyssa into a deep sleep, and Michael jokingly started rolling around on the bed to show me that she wouldn't wake up if I moved from my position on the bed, and bam, she woke up...thanks a lot Michael. And poor Alyssa; no one likes being woken from a deep sleep...

Gotta go.

More later.
